Member of Oregon’s two-time national championship and record-setting distance medley relay team was a key performer for Oregon’s first NCAA Indoor title squad. One of the Ducks’ top returning sprinters was a two-time scorer at the 2010 Pac-10 Championships to help Oregon win its fourth straight crown. Was a three-time scorer at the 2009 league meet. NCAA Championships qualifier at 400 meters. As a prep, was a Colorado 5A state 400 meter championships runner-up and member of three state champion 4x400 meter relays.
2009-10: Outdoors - Finished fourth in the 400 meters (47.01) at the Pac-10 Champioships. Ran 46.94 in the prelimiaries. Also anchored Oregon's fourth place 4x400 meter relay team (3:10.13). Capped season at the NCAA West Regional, where he ran 46.84 in the opening round to advance to the quarterfinals where he ran a season-best 46.79 to finish 16th overall. Also anchored 4x400 meter relay team that ran a season-best 3:08.34 at Austin. Earlier in the year, ran the 400 leg on Oregon's victorious distance medley relay at the Penn Relays (9:30.69). Captured the 400 at the Oregon Relays (47.04), where he also ran a personal-best 21.73 (windy) in the 200. Won the 400 meters versus UCLA in 47.33. Also ran the anchor leg on the winning 4x400 meter relay team (3:10.94) as the Ducks defeated the Bruins for the third straight year. Helped Oregon win the Pepsi Team Invitational with a third-place finish in the 400 meters (47.71). Also ran the anchor leg on the second-place 4x400 relay team (3:08.41) at the Pepsi. Neared his PR in the 200 meters at the Stanford Invitational, running 21.89. Opened season with a rare appearance at 800 meters in the Oregon Preview. Indoors - NCAA champion (distance medley relay) and a two-time All-American (DMR, 4x400 meter relay). Ran the 400 meter leg as Oregon defended its national title in the distance medley relay in 9:36.87. Also helped Oregon pick up an impressive sixth-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay (3:08.42), running the anchor leg. Ran the 400 leg on the top DMR time in the nation, 9:29.82, Jan. 29 at the Texas A&M Challenge. That time ranked third in school history. Two weeks later at the Tyson Invitational, opened with a 47.87 in the 400 meters. Also led the 4x400 meter relay squad to an NCAA provisional time of 3:08.66 at that meet. Improved both times at the MPSF Championships. Ran 47.80 in a fourth place finish in the 400 and ran the anchor leg of Oregon's season-best 4x400 relay team that ran 3:07.61, finishing second. 2008-09: National Champion and school record on the distance medley relay team (indoors). Three-time Pac-10 scorer (400 meters, both relays). Pair of memorable distance medley performances (400 meter leg) included a record-setting run at the UW Indoor Invitational (9:29.39) and a thrilling national championship at the NCAA meet at Texas A&M (9:29.59). Helped Oregon win its first-ever NCAA Indoor title. Outdoors, opened season with five straight wins at 400 meters - Oregon Preview, Stanford Invitational, Pepsi Team Invitational, Oregon-UCLA dual and the Oregon Relays. Victory against UCLA was crucial in a tight dual meet victory, where he sealed the meet by anchoring the winning 4x400 meter relay team. Ran a career-best 46.69 in the prelims of the Pac-10 Championships, before taking sixth in the finals (46.87). Also scored on both relay teams at the conference meet. Placed fifth in the 400 meters at the NCAA West Regional to earn his first individual bid to the NCAA Championships. Named the team’s Dow Wilson Inspirational Award winner. 2007-08: All-American in the 4x400 meter relay (indoors). NCAA qualifier on the outdoor 4x400 meter relay team. Regional qualifier in the 400 meters. Pac-10 scorer in both the 400 meters and the 4x400 meter relay. Ran a career-best 46.77 to finish eighth in the 400 meters at the Pac-10 Championships, scoring a point for the eventual champions. Ran the anchor leg of Oregon’s Pac-10 runner-up 4x400 meter relay team, which clocked a season-best 3:04.85. Helped the 4x400 relay team advance to the NCAA Championships with a second place finish at the NCAA West Regional (3:05.77). Won the 400 at the Oregon Relays (47.19). Helped Oregon defeat UCLA in a dual meet by taking fourth in the 200 meters (22.14). Ran a career-best 21.80 in the 200 in finishing third at the Oregon Preview. Indoors, earned his first career All-America honors running on Oregon’s seventh place 4x400 meter relay team (3:07.89). Finished third in the 400 meters at the MPSF Championships (47.19). Was also a member of the distance medley relay team that placed ninth at the NCAA Championships (9:36.80). Earlier in the indoor season, helped the distance medley relay team break the school record (9:34.06) at the USATF Indoor Championships in Boston. 2006-07: NCAA qualifier in the NCAA Championships 4x400 meter relay after top-four finishes in the Pac-10 Championships (fourth, 3:09.93) and NCAA West Regional (third, 3:08.79). In the 400 meters, capped season with two of his three fastest season times in the Pac-10 Championships. Opened May with his first collegiate win in Oregon Twilight 400 meters and also claimed a runner-up finish earlier in season in late March’s Clif Bar ASU Invitational with a season best. Indoors, finished second overall in Mountain Pacific Championships - three places better than his pre-meet seeding. Ran on the 4x400 meter team that placed second in the Mountain Pacific Championships (3:09.92) and ran three NCAA provisional qualifying efforts (3:09.91, 3:09.92, 3:10.03). Prep: Capped senior season with second-place finish in the 5A state 400 meters (47.14) - a 0.40- second season and personal best at the time and the ninth-fastest time in state history. Also ran on the 4x400 meter relay state champions as a sophomore, junior and senior. Four-year track letterwinner and one year basketball letterwinner.
