Was a 2010 Pac-10 scorer in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters. All-American (2009 5,000 meters, 2007 cross country) and Princeton graduate joined the program as a redshirt senior with one season outdoor eligibility remaining. Holds the Princeton record in the 5,000 meters (13:41.17). Oregon native was a state meet scorer in the 1,500, 3,000 and cross country as a senior at Jesuit High School.
2009-10: Outdoors - Scored in the 10,000 meters (fifth, 29:20.18) and 5,000 meters (eighth, 14:01.66) at the Pac-10 Championships as Oregon won its fourth straight league title. Ran the second leg of the four-mile relay as the Ducks won the "Wagon Wheel" at the Penn Relays (16:15.14). Had an outdoor PR in the mile of 4:02.06 at the Oregon Twilight. Following the Pac-10 meet, ran in his first NCAA West Regional, where he was ninth in the 5,000 meters in 14:02.62 to advance to the NCAA Championships. Capped season with a 16th-place run in the 5,000 at the NCAA Championships in 14:07.98. First race as a Duck was a fourth-place finish in the 1,500 meters (3:51.75) at the Oregon Preview. Took sixth in the 5,000 at the Stanford Invitational in a season-best 13:51.35. Placed fifth in the 1,500 meters at the Pepsi Team Invitational in a season-best 3:48.12. Before Oregon: Was a track and cross country All-American for Princeton. Ran 10th in the 5,000 meters at the 2009 NCAA Track and Field Championships (14:14.67). NCAA qualifier in the indoor mile. An Ivy League champion in cross country (2007) and at 1,500, 3,000 and 5,000 meters, including the 2009 titles at 1,500 and 5,000 meters. Set the school record in the 5,000 meters, 13:41.17, at the 2009 Mt. SAC Relays. Also on the Ivy League-winning distance medley relay team. Prep: As a senior, scored at both the state track and cross country meets for Jesuit High School. Was fourth in the 1,500 meters and fifth at 3,000 meters as a senior. Took third at the 2004 state cross country championships. Helped Jesuit win the 2003 state cross country title. High School Bests: 1,500 Meters - 3:56, 2005; 3,000 Meters - 8:26, 2005.
