The four-time All-American in the 800 meters and 2006 NCAA outdoor champion in the event is one of Oregon’s most accomplished middle-distance runners. In June 2006, became first collegiate freshman to win the NCAA 800 meter outdoor title with her personal best (2:02.07). In Beijing, China in August 2006, won the United State’s first-ever medal in the World Junior Championships women’s 800 meters (third, 2:04.72). Indoors, is a two-time NCAA runner-up and ranks second all-time for UO in the event. Owns the No. 4 800-meter time in school history and the No. 8 mark in the 1,500 meters (4:17.43). Her 800 meter high school best from the 2005 USA Junior Championships (first, 2:03.73) ranked ninth all-time on the U.S. high school list and was the fastest time in more than 20 years.
2008-09: Ran unattached in two races in the spring.
2007-08: Redshirted cross country and track seasons.
2006-07: Two-time NCAA All-American at 800 meters (indoors, outdoors). Outdoors, repeated All-America honors in NCAA 800 meters. Led team at the 800 and 1,500 meter distances and ranked top-10 nationally in both (800: third, 2:03.22; 1,500: ninth, 4:17.43). Her PR in the 1,500 meters, which came at the Stanford Invitational, is the eighth-best in school history. Indoors, repeated runner-up honors in NCAA Championships 800 meters thanks to her indoor personal best (2:04.70) That time ranks second all-time indoors at UO. Earlier in season, added an 800 meter leg on the indoor distance medley relay that ranks fifth all-time for UO (11:18.29) and won Mountain Pacific Championships. Also ran leg on the indoor 4x400 meter relays in the Mountain Pacific Championships (second overall, 3:37.48) that ranks second in school history. Ran on 4x400 meter relay squad outdoors at the Pepsi Team Invitational (3:36.07) that ranks fourth all-time for UO. Raced twice for UO in cross country and stood top six on the team in the Pac-10 Championships and NCAA West Regional. Season Bests: Outdoors - 800 Meters - 2:03.22, Oregon Invitational, Eugene, Ore. (4/21/07); 1,500 Meters - 4:17.43 (PR), Stanford Invitational, Stanford, Calif. (3/31/07). Indoors - 800 Meters - 2:04.70 (PR), NCAA Championships, Fayetteville, Ark. (3/10/07).
2005-06: NCAA outdoor champion in the 800 meters and NCAA runner-up in the indoor 800 meters. Ended outdoor season with a dramatic win in the NCAA 800-meter final by clocking a 0.78-second personal best (2:02.07) that ranks fifth all-time on the U.S. junior list and fourth all-time at Oregon. In weeks prior, won 800 meter titles in Pac-10 and West Regional (2:05.81/2:06.45) championships. Was also ninth in the Pac-10 1,500 meters (4:30.19). Indoors, fought through traffic in the final lap of the NCAA Championships 800 meters to finish second by only 0.08 seconds (2:05.72). Ran her season indoor best to win the University of Washington Invitational (2:04.72), a mark that was the fastest on the collegiate season best list. Season Bests: Outdoors - 400 Meters - 55.74, Oregon Invitational, Eugene, Ore. (4/22/06); 800 Meters - 2:02.07 (PR), NCAA Championships, Sacramento, Calif. (6/10/06); 1,500 Meters - 4:24.49, Stanford Invitational, Stanford, Calif. (4/1/06). Indoors - 800 Meters - 2:04.72, University of Washington Invitational, Seattle, Wash. (1/28/06).
Prep: As a senior in 2005, her winning 800 meter time at the USA Junior Championships (2:03.73) ranked her ninth all-time on the U.S. high school list. At the Pan-American Championships in Windsor, Ontario, she won the 800 meters (2:04.07). Won the 400 and 800 meters in the Washington 4A state championships with meet records of 54.14 and 2:08.61, respectively. As a junior, she ranked 10th nationally in the 400 meters (53.64).
