As a two-time All-American and three-time NCAA javelin top-nine finisher, is one of team's top championship performers and Canada's top throwers. Stands as team's javelin returnee (based on 2005 bests) for arguably the nation's deepest javelin corps which features another All-American and a pair of prep All-Americans from 2005. Rejoined the team in 2005 after a redshirt season and her improved quickness from the varied heptathlon training barely effected her javelin marks, and improved her overall health. Redshirted 2004 collegiate season to rest various arm and elbow injuries. Ranks fourth all-time for Ducks with new javelin introduced in ?99 (50.89m, 166-11), and also third in the indoor pentathlon (3,453).
2004-05: NCAA Qualifier (Javelin). After she redshirted in 2004, donned Oregon uniform again to make her third NCAA trip in javelin (ninth, 152-8) ? seven places better than her pre-meet seed and barely two feet from a third All-America honor. In May stretch run, placed top six in Pac-10 Championships (third, season best 162-8) and also in the West Regional (sixth, 155-9). Opened year with win in Pepsi Team Invitational (156-5) and added top-three finishes in Golden Bear Invitational (second, 158-9) and Oregon Invitational (third, 157-1). Added points to team cause in Pac-10 Championships in her first heptathlon since 2001 (eighth, 4,935). Indoors, competed in pentathlon in Mountain Pacific Championships (11th, 3,453) after she moved to third all-time for UO in her early February event debut in the McDonald’s Collegiate (third, 3,522). Personal/Seasonal Bests: Javelin ? 49.85m (162-8), Pacific-10 Championships, Los Angeles (5/15/05), Shot Put ? 12.85m (42-2) (PR), Oregon Preview, Eugene, Ore. (3/19/05). Indoors ? Pentathlon ? 3,522 (PR), McDonald’s Collegiate, Moscow, Idaho (2/4/05).
2003-2004 (Redshirted): Did not compete indoor or outdoor seasons in return from various injuries from earlier in her career. Competed unattached once locally in the Oregon Invitational (sixth, 143-4) with mark that would have qualified for the Pac-10 and regional finales. Personal/Seasonal Best: 43.70m (143-4), Oregon Invitational, Eugene, Ore. (4/24/04).
2002-03: All-American (Javelin). In NCAA Championships return, improved on 17th-place seeding by nine places (eighth, 159-0), thanks to a season best in the prelim two days before (161-10) that ranked her fifth among the 27 entrants. Despite her limited practice time, saw action in eight contests and was above 155 feet in seven of them (including above 157 feet in the final six of the season). Earlier in championship run, led squad in Pac-10 Championships (second, 159-8, and led event in the first four rounds), then followed with automatic NCAA berth in NCAA West Regional (fourth, 157-3). Ended season with a third-place finish (155-1, 47.29m) in the Canadian National Championships in Victoria, in July. Was a Verizon West Region Academic All-America first-team selection and national team nominee. Pac-10 Track & Field All-Academic First Team selection. Personal/Seasonal Best: 49.33m (161-10), NCAA Championships Prelims, Sacramento, Calif. (6/11/04).
2001-02: All-American (Javelin). Led Duck trio in NCAA debut (seventh, 165-4) after entering meet seeded 11th, and even more impressive, overcame a bout with food poisoning that forced her to be bed-ridden the day before. In NCAA meet, had four +160-foot throws (first, 163-3; second, 160-10; third, 165-4; sixth 160-7). In Pac-10 debut, was one of four Ducks to place top six (fourth, 163-11, 49.97m). Altogether during year, fought off an elbow injury to compete in six meets, and topped 160 feet in five of them, including a season best in the Arizona State Invitational and her first collegiate win (first, 166-11, 50.89m). Added runner-up honors in Montana-Weber State Triangular (160-5, 48.91m) and Nebraska Quad (163-6, 49.83m). Also threw shot put in three meets during year, with season best in her collegiate debut in the Montana-Weber State Triangular (third, 40-7). Looking back over her 2002 campaign, topped 160-foot line in five of her six meets. Did not compete indoors. Personal/Seasonal Bests: 50.89m (166-11) (PR), Arizona State Invitational, Tempe, Ariz. (3/30/02).
Prep: Claimed provincial titles in 2001 in the heptathlon, javelin and discus and added second place in shot put, earning British Columbia's most outstanding track female athlete award. Took second in javelin in 2001 Canadian Championships (approx. 48.00m). Invited to compete in fall 2001 in Junior Pan-American Championships, but did not attend. Also lettered two seasons in basketball and was Islands MVP as senior and an all-province second-team pick. In volleyball, earned two letters and was an all-province first-team selection as a senior. Helped volleyball squad finish third in British Columbia tournament, and in turn, was named to all-star first team. Lettered in cross country three seasons. Received government academic scholarship and was a four-year National Honor Society member. High School (Coach): Claremont '01 (Ron Parker).
Personal: Marine Biology major. Her mother was a Canadian national basketball team member, while her father was a volleyball national team member and was invited to play in the Canadian Football League.
