As a senior in 2008, the three-time NCAA Cross Country Championships veteran will challenge for his third Pac-10 track appearance in the 10,000 meters. Was one of team's most dependable cross country runners, and the two-time All-Pac-10 Second-Team selection ran in squad's top five in 16 career cross country meets. Outdoors in '08, will set sights on 5,000m regional standard (14:12.00) and the 10,000m NCAA provisional standard (29:30.00). As a prep, was one of the state's top cross country runners and a two-time top-five 4A state placer.
2006-07: NCAA Qualifier (Cross Country). Outdoors on track, was one of five Ducks that finished top 10 in the Pac-10 Championships 10,000m (10th, 30:19.15). Altogether, competed in four races outdoors (3,000m , 5,000m 1, 10,000m 3), and redshirted indoors. In cross country, scored top-four finishes on team in all three championship races. Posted best NCAA Championships finish (51st, 31:57) and helped team to fifth-place team finish. In weeks prior was an All-Pac-10 Second Team pick for the second straight year in Pac-10 Championships (12th, 23:46) and improved a place in the West Regional (11th, 30:34). 2005-06: NCAA Qualifier (Cross Country). Capped outdoor track with Pac-10 Championships debut in 10,000m (ninth, 31:27.19). Altogether, competed in eight outdoor races for Oregon (1,500m-2; 3,000m-2; steeplechase-1; 5,000m-1; 10,000m-2) and also raced 5,000m once indoors. In fall, emerged as one of West Coast’s top cross country runners in the stretch run and was rewarded with an NCAA individual appearance (119th, 31:08.8) after he ranked second among potential individual qualifiers in the NCAA West Regional (13th, 30:31). Also led the Ducks a third time in the Pac-10 Championships (13th, 24:41) and earned All-Pac-10 Second Team honors for his top-14 finish. Ranked third on team in two other races ? the Pre-NCAA Invitational (91st, 24:59) and Pier Park Preview (third, 20:41) ? and fourth in the Willamette Invitational (24th, 24:39). 2004-05: Raced in three contests outdoors in track and once indoors in debut collegiate season in distances from 3,000-10,000 meters. Made 10K debut in Oregon Invite and moved up in final third of race to take third (30:49.95). Capped collegiate season with four-second personal best in Oregon Twilight 5,000m (fifth, 14:50.46). In fall, ran in team’s top four in all four cross country contests, including third on squad in West Regional (40th, 31:32) ? 37 places better than his debut in 2003. Stood fourth on team in Stanford Invitational (18th, 4K-12:23), Pre-NCAA Invitational (109th, 25:22) and Pacific-10 Championships (25th, 25:15). In his second league showing, finished 13 places better than his freshman debut in ?03. Personal/Season Bests: 3,000m ? 8:34.56 (PR) ? Pepsi Team Invitational (4/9/05); 5,000m ? 14:50.46 (then-PR) ? 2003-04: Redshirted the indoor and outdoor seasons to adjust to collegiate training level. Raced unattached and made 5,000 meters track debut in mid-May in Willamette Last Chance (eighth, 14:54.24). Also ran 3,000m outdoors in Oregon Twilight (11th, 8:42.57) the week before. Indoors, ran three 3,000m races unattached in Seattle and improved 5-6 seconds in each. Ended year with personal best in Last Chance Qualifier the first week in March (24th, 8:34.56). Also ran 3K in Pac-10 Invitational (35th, 8:39.83) and Husky Indoor Preview (16th, 8:45.47). In cross country vied for team's top newcomer honors, and made NCAA debut in Ducks' sixth slot (213th, 32:00). Scored in his three other varsity appearances ? Pac-10 Championships (38th, 26:14), West Regional (67th, 31:28) and Pre-NCAA Invitational (91st, 25:00). Also ranked second on squad in 'B' team season opener in Pier Park Preview (10th, 4-miles-20:36).
Prep: Clocked prep bests of 4:08 in 1,500m and 8:42 in 3,000m. As a senior, finished fourth (15:36) in the 2002 4A state cross country championships and fifth as a junior (15:44). Ended senior harrier campaign in 2002 FootLocker Western Regional (50th, 16:33). On the track took ninth in 3,000m as a junior (9:00.04). Played soccer first two years in high school at right defender and right wing, and lettered as a sophomore. High School: Southridge '03.
