2007-08: Outdoors - NCAA Regional qualifier (5,000 meters). Was fourth in the 5,000 meters at the Pepsi Team Invitational. Ran a season-best 14:11.12 in a fifth place finish at the Cardinal Invitational. Took 26th at the Pac-10 meet in 14:59.29. Wrapped season with a 13th place showing at the NCAA West Regional (14:43.92). Indoors - Ran the mile and the 3,000 meters at three meets. Redshirted cross country season and competed twice unattached in the Mike Hodges Invitational (12th overall, 19:56) and Beaver Classic (sixth overall, 24:26). Season Bests: Outdoors - 5,000 Meters - 14:11.12 (PR), Cardinal Invitational, Stanford, Calif. (5/4/08).
Prep: Won the 2006 Foot Locker national cross country title after he claimed the state cross country title and finished second in the West Regional. As a junior, he finished second in the state cross country meet. In the California state track meet, he finished second in the state 3,200m as senior and junior and added seventh in the 1,600m as a senior.
