As a redshirt junior in 2007-08, is one of three Duck Pac-10 10,000m track scorers that return for the distance squad. On the oval, will again compete for Oregon in any event from the 1,500-10,000 meters. Team's most experienced cross country performer and in her four harrier seasons for UO ran in squad's top four in 15 races, including four races as its second finisher and eight more as its third finisher. Was a Pac-10 All-Academic honoree as a sophomore, junior and senior. As a prep, the local product was a two-time Oregon state top-10 placer in the 4A cross country championships, and a three-time top-three placer on the track in 1,500m and 3,000m.
Fall 2007: Boosted cross country team to NCAA runner-up team finish as its fifth finisher, and saved her best collegiate effort against the nation’s finest runners (103rd, 21:34). Also ranked fifth on team in the West Regional (27th overall, 21:12). Scored third career top-30 Pac-10 finish (30th overall, 21:07) to open championship slate. Also scored for UO in the Sunriver Open and Mike Hodges Invitational with top-six finishes overall (fourth, 17:08 / sixth, 17:29). Pac-10 All-Academic Cross Country Second Team selection.
2006-07: Redshirt. Did not compete indoors or outdoors in track. In cross country, stood third on team in four of her five races, including her second top-20 Pac-10 Championships finish (20th, 21:26). Also scored in the Pier Park Preview (fourth, 18:37), Bill Dellinger Invitational (50th, 22:16) and Mike Hodges Invitational (sixth, 17:07). Capped fall season with third West Regional appearance (79th, 23:20). Pac-10 All-Academic Cross Country Second Team selection.
2005-06: Pac-10 Scorer (10,000m). Led pair of Duck scorers in Pac-10 Championships 10,000m held in Eugene (seventh, 36:01.14), and competed two weeks later in NCAA West Regional 5,000m (14th, 17:53.01) held at Provo, Utah (4,553 feet elevation). Owned team's fastest 10,000m clocking of season from her debut in late April in the Oregon Invitational (eighth, 35:43.74). Altogether, competed in six races outdoors (1,500m - 2; 3,000m - 2; 5,000m - 2; 10,000m - 2) and two races indoors at end of season in Mountain Pacific Championships (3,000m, 16th, 9:53.36; 5,000m, 10th, 17:08.35). In fall, continued to mature into key scorer for cross country squad and was a top-four finisher in every race for one of the nation’s top teams. Took second on unit in season debut in the Pier Park Preview (second overall, 18:39) and Pre-NCAA Invitational (42nd, 21:29.8). Ran in team’s third slot in the Pac-10 Championships (18th, 21:44) and Willamette Invitational (ninth, 17:28). Ended season as Ducks’ fourth finisher in NCAA West Regional (37th, 21:31). 2004-05: U.S. Junior Qualifier (1,500m). Team's leader outdoors in 1,500 with her three-second personal best from the Oregon Invitational at Hayward Field in late April (ninth, 4:32.84), and easily met the U.S. Junior Championships qualifying standard (4:40.14). Won her collegiate debut in the Oregon Preview 1,500m in late March (4:38.33). Also broke 4:40 in her two other outdoor races in Eugene - the Pepsi Team Invitational in early April (seventh, 4:39.38) and Oregon Twilight in early May (second, 4:37.36). Redshirted indoor season. In cross country, was team’s top freshman at end of season. Scored for Ducks in all four races and placed higher on team as the season wore on. Ran in team’s second and third slots in West Regional (58th, 22:07) and Pac-10 Championships (47th, 22:40), respectively, and in its fourth position in Pier Park Preview (eighth, 19:25) and Roy Griak Invite (100th, 23:09).
Prep: The South Eugene High School product took 16th in the 2003 state 4A cross country championships (19:04) and helped her team take fourth place - only two points shy of second place. As a sophomore in 2001, she took seventh (19:15) for the state champion squad, and added fourth as a junior (18:39). On the track she capped her high school career at Hayward Field with top-eight finishes as a senior in 2004 in the state 4A 1,500m (second, 4:40.32), 3,000m (third, 9:57.79) and 4x400m (seventh, 4:03.19). On the state season best lists in '04, she stood second in the state in the 3,000m (9:56.92) and third in the 1,500m (4:38.40a). At previous state track finales, she took top eight in the 1,500m as a junior (second, personal best 4:36.17) and sophomore (sixth, 4:49.14). High School (Coach): Home-schooled (South High School '03 - Jeff Hess). Owned prep track bests of 2:15.4 in the 800m, 4:36.17 in the 1,500m (4:36.17) and 9:56.92 in the 3,200m (2004), and a cross country best of 18:29 for 5,000m.
