Looks forward to final collegiate campaign in 2006-07 and second of two seasons of eligiblity for Ducks. Ranks fifth all-time among collegians with her unattached best from her redshirt 2005 season (223-8). Was barely two feet off that mark for UO in a pair of April contests in 2006, including her preseason school record (221-7). Ranks third among collegiate returnees in 2007 and fifth all-time among Americans based on personal best marks. Transferred to Oregon from LSU after the 2004 season, and competed as a freshman in 2003 for Southeast Louisiana. Set the LSU school record in the hammer in May 2004 (205-11), then improved to 207-9 in a summer meet in 2004 before she arrived in Eugene. Competed in 2004 Olympic Trials in hammer (14th-prelims, 201-6) and in 2005 USA Championships.
2005-06: All-American (Hammer). In first official season for the Ducks, easily topped the previous UO school record then held by teammate Brittany Hinchliffe (199-2, 2005) in every contest, including two meets past 221 feet. Made second NCAA trip and claimed first All-America honor (hammer, sixth, 208-7) and joined Hinchcliffe as UO's first-ever All-Americans in the event. Early in postseason run, fought through an ankle injury to lead the Ducks in the Pac-10 Championships in mid-May (fourth, 210-3) and earned NCAA invitation two weeks later in the NCAA West Regional (fourth, 209-3). Scored highest career finish in USA Championships in mid-June (seventh, 212-2). Claimed three wins during the outdoor regular season at home in the Oregon Invitational (221-5), Oregon Twilight (215-1) and Oregon Preview (208-7). Added three more runner-up efforts over the course of the season, and was the top collegian at Mt. SAC (second, 221-7) and the Road to Eugene meet in early August (fourth, 215-5). On year-end season best lists, ranked fourth in the U.S. (and the top collegian) and 46th in the world based on season bests. Altogether, competed in the hammer throw 11 times outdoors and scored marks of 208 feet or better in 10 of them. Indoors, saw action in the weight throw in four indoor contests and posted marks of 58-10 or better in each of them. Upped indoor school record twice during the year in the UW Invitational (second, 60-10 3/4, 18.56m) and Mountain Pacific Championships (third-tie, 61-1 1/4, 18.62m). Personal/Season Bests: Outdoors - Hammer - 67.54m (221-07), Mt. SAC Relays, Walnut, Calif., (4/15/06). Indoors - Weight Throw - 18.62m (61-01.25), Mountain Pacific Championships, Seattle, Wash. (2/24/06).
2004-05: Redshirted. Trained with team but did not compete for Ducks due to intercollegiate twice-transfer rule. Ranked fifth in the U.S. and 41st in the world in the hammer with her personal best from the Payton Jordan Open at Stanford in late May (68.17m 223-8) - a mark that also met the World Championships B qualifying standard. Also topped her preseason best (207-9) in two of her other four appearances as an unattached entrant - the Oregon Twilight (first, 217-10) and Mt. SAC Relays (Sixth, 211-8). Also topped the 200-foot stripe in the Oregon Invitational (first, 206-4) and Oregon Preview (201-2). Ended season ranked third all-time among collegians with her unattached season best behind Loree Smith (Colorado State, 2005, 229-9) and Candice Scott (Florida, 2004, 229-5) and jumped to ninth all-time on U.S. list since the women's implement was officially introduced in 1996. Did not compete indoors.
Before Oregon: Ended 2004 sophomore season with LSU hammer record (205-11) - more than seven feet ahead of the school’s second-ranked thrower (197-4, 2003). Won NCAA hammer regional title with her then-personal best (205-9), and also topped 200-foot line in four other appearances (Olympic Trials prelims, 14th, 201-6; Texas Relays, second, 202-1; LSU Alumni Gold, first, 200-6; SEC Champs, fourth, 200-5), and was above 197 feet in two other meets. At the end of the 2004 season, ranked 19th in U.S. and ninth among collegians based on season bests. Threw javelin only once as a sophomore, and took 13th in SEC Championships (115-0). Indoors, ranked second on team in weight throw (59-4) with mark from Armory Invitational. Also topped 58 feet in four other meets (LSU Last Chance, second, 59-2 3/4; Bayou Bengal Invitational, second, 58-8 1/2; SEC Champs, 15th, 58-5 3/4; and United Heritage Invitational, fifth, 58-3 1/4). Transferred to LSU for one season, after she competed as a freshman at Southeast Louisiana in 2003 and was an all-Louisiana second-team pick. Owned a frosh season and hammer personal best that year of 185-4, and also threw indoor weight 48-0 that season.
Prep: Set an unofficial Washington state record in the hammer at 166-10 as a senior in 2002. Owned other prep bests of 12.9 in 100, 13.5 in the 100 hurdles, 37.5 in the 300 hurdles, and was a frequent relay member. Four-year track and field letterwinner.
