Four-time All-American transferred to Oregon for graduate school following a successful career at Harvard. Helped Oregon to runner-up finishes at the Pac-10 and NCAA Cross Country championships. Was the Ducks’ top individual at the Pac-10 Championships.
2008-09: Outdoors - Two appearances at 5,000 meters, including second at the Pepsi Team Invitational (16:28.62). Indoors - Set the school record in the 5,000 meters (later broken), running 15:55.57 to win the UW Indoor Invitational. Cross Country - Transfer from Harvard was Oregon’s No. 1 runner in two of the five races she ran. Oregon’s No. 4 finisher (48th overall) at the NCAA Championships (20:48.4). Placed 19th at the NCAA West Regional (20:32.21) as the fourth Oregon finisher. Was the top Duck, placing seventh overall (20:15.64), at the Pac-10 Championships. Won the Mike Hodges Invitational (17:05). Placed ninth (21:06.77) in her first race as a Duck, the Bill Dellinger Invitational, in helping Oregon to a team win. Season Bests: Outdoors - 5,000 Meters - 16:28.62, Pepsi Team Invitational, Eugene, Ore. (4/4/09). Indoors - 5,000 Meters - 15:55.67, UW Indoor Invitational, Seattle, Wash. (1/30/09).
Before Oregon: In 2007, was Harvard’s top finisher to lead the Crimson to victory over Yale for the first time this decade in their annual cross country dual. Redshirted the 2006-07 season. Placed ninth in the 3,000 meters at the 2006 NCAA Indoor Championships, where she won her fourth career All-America award. That year also saw her run the fourth-fastest U.S. junior time in the 5,000 meters, 15:42.81. Was a three-time All-American as a freshman during the 2004-05 academic season, winning honors for her 38th-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, her seventh-place finish in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Indoor Championships and her fourth-place finish in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Is one of only 10 women to win three All-America awards as a freshman. Set the American Junior record in the 10,000 meters, breaking a 26 year-old mark by running 32:51.20. Placed sixth at the 2005 U.S. Cross Country Championships to earn a spot on the U.S. Junior Cross Country Team. Finished 18th at the 2005 IAAF World Cross Country Junior Championships in France, which was the second-best finish by an American woman under-20 since 1992.
